PENTECOST 1997

  WHEN will you celebrate the Christian "Pentecost"?

1997, is the first year since 1989, that Easter (on March 30) occurs on a wildly earlier date than does the Levitical Feast of Firstfruits (on April 27).

The Jewish (Biblical) Feast of Firstfruits is the Sunday following Passover.

Passover is the day upon which Christ Jesus was crucified, and He arose from the dead on the following Sunday, which Sunday, always is the Feast of Firstfruits.

Count 50 days beginning Resurrection Sunday, April 27, 1997, and you arrive at the Hebrew High Holy Day of Shavu'ot - Sunday, June 15, 1997 - THE Pentecost of Acts, Ch. 2. (In Greek, Pentecost means "count 50"!)

IN 1997:

50 days from Easter, ---Mar. 30, yields Sunday, May 18

50 days from Firstfruits, Apr. 27, yields Sunday, June 15

SO WHAT?

SO!  That is a disparity of 28 days. One of these dates is WRONG!

TOTALLY WRONG!

NOTE: Concerning Pentecost

There is only ONE authentic Pentecost, annually!

There is NOT a separate "Christian" Pentecost that is on a different date than that of the God-established, Biblical Pentecost...
....The Hebrew's Shavu'ot.

Please do not neglect thinking about the fact that one must annually determine the correct Sunday for Pentecost by counting 50 days beginning on the "Resurrection Sunday" that follows Passover...

....no matter when Easter is celebrated.

There is only one correct date for the Christian Pentecost. And, in 1997, it IS June 15, NOT May 18.

SHOULD YOU BE CONCERNED?

God, The Father Almighty, has always been less than impressed with the display of a cultural form of religiosity which ignores His Divinely established and ordained feast/festival dates. Worshipping Him in earnest on an inappropriate day/date shows to Him that you do not know what you are doing, that you have not read and understood His scriptural directions.

If you claim to be a Born-Again, Blood-Bought, authentic possessor of salvation, an heir to the Kingdom of God, you should be concerned about pleasing God by being concerned enough to personally discover all He has revealed.

Realistically, now, how could you ever obey all God's Word when you do not know very much of what His Word has to say to YOU in particular?

Or, do you have just a thin veneer of Christianity, called cultural religiosity? And, underneath that thin veneer, an even thinner veneer that represents your lack of depth in scriptural knowledge? And, underneath that thinner veneer, nothing but the world and the flesh - those religious-type beliefs either taught to you as a child or those religious-type beliefs you have gleaned from the culture(s) in which you interact?

Many so-called "Believers" in Christ Jesus have learned all or most of what they know about Christianity from other humans who do not know Christ Jesus very well at all. This means that they know almost nothing about authentic (In God's Eyes) Christianity, it is the spiritually blind leading the spiritually blind.

Most all self-proclaimed Christians do not have a very firm grip on the scriptures. Bible study bores far too many Christians, they would mostly prefer congregating for any other reason than Bible study. They especially avoid the type of Bible study which goes through the ENTIRE Bible verse-by-verse, leaving nothing out - not even the various "Begets".

If you have not figured it out yet, there is an eternal difference between authentic Christianity and cultural religiosity. Authentic possessors of salvation are definitely saved, false professers of salvation are definitely not saved - no matter what they imagine.

Which of these types are you?

Christ Jesus said that many who call Him "LORD", and many who in His "NAME" claim to work the miracles which they produce, will not enter into The Kingdom of God because He never knew them. They will not be recognized as "Believers" by HIM.

Are you one of these?

And, are you really sure?

Something so simplistic as knowing how to calculate and observe the correct days/dates on God's feast/festival calendar is elementary to seriously committed students of scripture, you need not be a super-saint. But, you do need to know your way around and through God's ENTIRE Word, Witness, Testimony and Counsel.

Christian "Believers" of long standing should be ashamed for not knowing enough of God's Word to be enabled by the Holy Spirit to discern the correct days/dates which honor God, days and dates which He established - which He declared Holy unto Him. Christian "Believers" should be most ashamed for failing to discern the importance of pleasing God by learning, even loving, all of the information about general religiosity, God-established (Word-established) holiness, sanctification, and authentic spirituality which God has revealed.

Shame on you!

The Old Testament is replete with (packed full-of) examples of spiritual successes and failures, Christians are to learn about authentic spirituality from those recorded examples. How could a Christian who claims to love God, and claims to love Jesus also, fail to avail themselves of the spiritual information detailed so clearly for their aggrandizement? But, then, THAT failure is exactly what cultural religiosity is all about, the spiritual questing - the seeking for transcendental contact - the reaching-out for some "Higher Power", some "Force", some spiritual break-through, all without seeking The True and Living God, first, in the very place where He CAN be found today - in His ENTIRE Word!!!

ASK YOURSELF...

How do you experientially KNOW the veracity of whatever it is that you believe? What, exactly, is the foundation of your most deeply held religious/spiritual beliefs? Upon which beliefs do you gamble your potential salvation, assuming you believe in such a thing as salvation? Do you believe in God's Word, or do you believe in something you have either heard and/or dreamed-up? Do you believe in something other than God's Word, something else which is spiritually comfortable, which does not morally convict you too harshly, which fits-in with your life-style and your world- view(s)? Do you believe in something other than God's ENTIRE Word, something which you have cobbled-together from the sources available, choosing those spiritual concepts which leave you serenely comfortable in a state of self-induced spiritual delusion? How, exactly, do you KNOW?

THAT WAS THE QUESTION,  THIS IS THE ANSWER...

God, The Father Almighty, authored the final word on "Religion" about 2,000 years ago, you can believe His Word or you can believe whatever you wish - but only His Word extends the power of salvation. Everything else is wishful thinking, imaginary psychological constructs and fanciful delusions. Suit yourself! It is your eternal gamble with your own soul!!!

If you profess yourself to be a Christian, you should ask and check with any/all Christian friends and churches/ministries to see whether they think Pentecost, this year, is mid-May, or mid-June. Check with your own church, ask any ministry to which you donate (tithe), ask Paul Crouch at the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), ask Pat Robertson (CBN), ask Pope John Paul II. See what THEY think is the correct day/date for Pentecost, 1997?

Then, consider the Biblical information you have discovered here.

WHY?  WELL, WHY NOT?

Most of today's spiritual seekers, today's transcendental questers, are outside the Body of Christ: i.e., un-saved! There are FAR more people, worldwide, seeking God in places and ways where God can NOT be found than there are scripturaly astute, Holy Spirit taught, Word-oriented/Word-filled Christians who have genuine fellowship and communion with God.

Even most "so-called" Christians are not in obedience to very much of God's Word. Most of you have only heard a portion of God's ENTIRE Word, and you are not even close-to complete/full-time obedience to that portion of God's Word which you HAVE heard. For you spiritually deficient, yet, authentic Born-Again Christians, the Holy Spirit does NOT implement His teaching ministry for those huge portions of God's ENTIRE Word which you DO NOT know, those vast portions of Holy Scripture which DO NOT live inside of you.

What About You Who Truly Are "BORN-AGAIN"?

The advantage of being "BORN-AGAIN" is that God chooses to render you spiritually alive to Him personally, and He makes you spiritually receptive to His plan/purpose for the ages. The specifics are revealed in His ENTIRE Word, Witness, Testimony and Counsel. Being "BORN-AGAIN" quite simply activates/catalyzes the spiritual connectivity which GOD provides, it is the VERY same spiritual connectivity which the world fruitlessly seeks through man-made cultural religiosity or yearns-for through other religious- type traditions and fantasies. If you truly are "BORN-AGAIN", God provides the otherwise unattainable spiritual connectivity which the world quests-after so ardently through various and sundry powerless rituals or worthless ceremonies.

If and when you experience some portion(s) of God's Word, after being Born-Again, God's Spirit will make that portion of the Word real and alive to you. So that you can both fully understand how it applies to you personally, and also understand the deeper spiritual implications/aspects involved - which honor God in the specifically particular ways which He wishes to be honored.

Those "Religious" practices which God teaches in His Word are far more efficacious than are those other "Religious"-type practices which you hope, or imagine, or even falsely believe honor God.

"RELIGION" is validated GOD'S WAY!!!  NOT YOUR WAY!!!

Without the benefit/advantage of being Born-Again, humans will still seek God in other ways unapproved (by God) and other unholy ways, even though those other ways do SEEM very "RIGHT" to human souls. Those unapproved ways, those unholy ways of seeking God are at the core of cultural religiosity, and there is no salvation found in cultural religiosity (says God!), no matter what you feel, fantasize, imagine, invent, conjure-up or suspect.

God does not just call you to salvation through your belief in Christ Jesus, after your salvation God calls you to obedience to His Word. You had better believe it! Any self-professed Christian who disputes obedience does not know or accept scriptural evidence.

God indicates quite clearly that it is your post-salvation obedience which causes Him to realize that you actually DO love Him as He wishes to be loved. A fully informed (on your part) relationship; which can lead you to the oft-spoken-of communion and fellowship with God, which is so ardently sought- after by God-seekers and transcendental-questers of all sorts; is available to you whom love God enough to discover ALL He has revealed. God, Himself, promises this!

God will always deal with you about TRUTH before He deals with you about the sin in your life and your obedience to His Word. You must fully immerse yourself in His Word (like a type of Baptism) in order to know His spiritual truth. You MUST do this in order to recognize the sin in your life, and do this in order to come to the point where you let Christ Jesus live in you (yielding your control over to Him) in order for Him to bring you into obedience to God, The Father. There is NO other "Way"!

HOLINESS ADHERENTS: ASK YOURSELF...

Do you believe that your current Religious spiritual state, your current Religious spiritual power, derives-from or originated-in the events which occurred on the day of Pentecost?

Do you believe that your spiritual enablement is enhanced by your attempts to attain a disciplined Christian life, with its emphasis on personal, self-actualized, self-enforced holiness in order to spiritually sanctify yourself FOR God? Do you believe THAT, instead of believing-in letting Christ Jesus live IN you by you having God's ENTIRE Word abiding alive inside you? So that He will then live the disciplined, Holy, sanctified life through you with NO pious input or devotional effort on your part?

Why don't you holiness-adherents realize that after you become what God wants you to become (Word-filled), you will (then) do what God wants you to do?

A CLOSING CHALLENGE

In THE very (actual Biblical) year of Christ Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, can you today be absolutely positive and fully assured that Easter Sunday actually followed Passover, THE day of His crucifixion? Or, nearly 2,000 years ago, did Easter really occur on a wildly earlier date than Passover?

Like in 1997? And, like in 1989, etc?

It is entirely possible, and it is quite likely, that Christ Jesus was NOT resurrected on an Easter Sunday at all!

But, it IS an absolute certainty that He arose from the dead ON the Feast of Firstfruits, the only Sunday which ALWAYS follows Passover!

Easter does NOT ALWAYS follow Passover, as 1997 and as 1989 demonstrate!
